The challenge

Businesses that accept crypto usually run two worlds side by side: a crypto wallet for coins like Ethereum and USDT, and a separate tool for card payments and invoices. Money gets tracked in spreadsheets, payments are approved by hand, and nobody has one clear view of what came in and what is still pending.

The client wanted SonicPay to replace that patchwork with one dashboard for crypto and fiat payments. The brief covered the full merchant journey: creating payment links, taking card payments, approving transactions, sending invoices, scheduling payouts and connecting other tools through an API. It had to feel simple enough for a small business owner, yet complete enough for a finance team.

Our approach

Start with the money flow. We mapped the path of a single payment from start to finish: the merchant creates a payment link, the customer pays, the transaction appears for approval, it moves into a payout, and an invoice keeps the record. Every screen was designed around a step in that journey, so the product reads like one story instead of separate tools.

One overview, then detail. The dashboard answers the first questions a merchant has: how much came in, in which currencies, and what needs attention. Revenue is shown per currency, the chart shows the year at a glance, and recent transactions sit right below with clear Pending and Approve states.

Clear status everywhere. Payments, payouts and invoices share one visual language for status: Pending, Approved, Paid, Draft and In progress use consistent colours and shapes, so a merchant can scan a long table and spot what needs action.

Built as a system. Navigation, tables, form fields, buttons and status pills were designed as reusable components across 20+ screens, covering payments, transactions, customers, payouts, invoices, integrations, webhooks, account security, notifications, reports and support. That keeps the product consistent today and fast to extend later.

The outcome

SonicPay was delivered as a complete, developer-ready product design: more than 20 screens covering the full merchant journey, from the first payment link to payouts, reporting and account security.

Merchants get one place to accept crypto and card payments, approve transactions in a click, send recurring invoices and see their revenue across currencies at a glance. The shared component system means new features, like more currencies or payout methods, can be added without redesigning the product.
